  Bought Creative Zen 4GB in December 2007 as a Christmas gift for my daughter (17 years). Amazon was great - easy to order, delivery was fantastic. But the product....?! It did work until 20 January and started to sound like some parts have been detached inside of the player. It was clanking and rattling on slightest move. Again Amazon was great. I reported the fault and they sent replacement in 2 days after the report, even before I have sent the faulty one back. Great service and my congratulation to you guys in Amazon. That is the customer care which I would like to see in other places.
  
  Unfortunately in April 2008 the new player has developed leak in TFT screen and I approached Amazon who has given almost immediate reply, expressing regrets and advising me to approach Creative for manufacturer guarantee repair. Then my problems started. Creative has said that manufacturer guarantee does not cover the screen and offered me to replace the display for £49.00. I was stunned - the same totally new MP3 from Amazon costs £54.00. That means that Creative in fact guarantees only the value of £5 which is probably one button and a couple internal bits in the MP3. Be aware of Creative customer support and my advice - do not buy their product. They are faulty, unreliable and customer support is rubbish. I will never again buy any product from Creative but I will definitely use Amazon.com to buy from some other manufacturers.

  Very happy with the ZEN. However it would only pick up one radio (local) station even thouigh the rest of my radios have all stations with the execption of the DAB signal, well that could be down to living in Scotland and not in a heavily populated area where we might get a very week signal that is not picked up by small radio devices! I did contact Creative a few times and updated the software etc to no avail and as they could not say if a replacement would be any better I sadly returned it. That said, an easy to use menu system good sound, video playback and large screen I was more than happy.

  This on the face of it is a great product. The menus are intuitive and the look a feel of the product is first class. The sound quality is very good and the screen is crystal clear. Be a little wary though - I am on my second one from Amazon as the first locked-up twice and had to be reset, once requiring the reloading of new firmware from Creatives web-site. In the end the thing died completley. The problems occur when disconnecting the thing from the computer after docking. It updates and then gets stuck. Looking on the internet it seems a common gripe with this unit. Great product if it works, and I am willing to give it another go - but be warned!!!

  I guess I was just unlucky but mine was packed up ready for return within half an hour of trying to get it set-up. I had problems connecting via the USB port, the Zen kept "losing" the connection. Then after a few tries it refused to turn on. By then I'd had enough and it was sent back for a refund.
  
  A general point, the USB cable supplied is virtually useless as it's about 80cm including plugs. The good news is that it's a standard mini plug so you can use a standard lead.

  I bought two players - one for me and my cousin - and both lasted up to 6 weeks before refusing to turn on. The sound quality was good but never got video playback running.
  
  The zen software was a bit excessive particularly having to convert normal video files that play in realplayer to the device.
  
  Creative website is also poor as it only really tries to promote company products with only a downloadable firmware upgrade which is useless when one of its products cannot even be switched on. happy with amazon service but will definitely look past creative products in the future...highly disappointing
