  I installed one of these phones with two extensions for a friend. One extension which is only 15feet away from the base unit frequentley goes into search mode. Not recommended. Panasonic KX-TG7220E a much better buy.

  Bought this phone on the recommendation of other reviewers and am wondering if we're talking about the same product!For the Philips CD1351S/05 telephone here are the pros and cons:
  Pros:Looks nice and sleek and handles well.Light too.Doesn't take up much room and an easy set up.Inexpensive.
  
  Cons: A lot of people won't like the handpiece doubling as an answering machine.Poor recording quality;very small letters and characters on the buttons so you have to have good eyesight. The playback features are an utter chore.Playing back new recordings is simple enough, but to playback saved messages is extremely difficult without the manual in front of you.Definitely not for technophobes!There is no audible alert of messages, just a very small orange light which flickers.So unless you remember to check the phone for msgs., you'll quite easily not notice the light blinking.I preferred the old seperate answer machines with the mini tapes, but sadly they're becoming difficult to find now.So, despite the low price, I found it disappointing.

  bought this answerphone just before christmas. i have found it very difficult to hear people phoning me having to turn off the tv volume and really press the receiver to my ear.
  added to this the answerphone has now broken and won't allow anyone to leave messages, telling them to phone back later.

  Bought this cordless phone about a year ago and it has the worst sound quality I have ever experienced for a DECT phone. The interference and static is just unimaginable. I've turned off wireless broadbands etc etc but nothing works.
  
  I actually can not believe why a good brand like Philips would let this phone out on the market. Other features like speakerphone, meny, re-dial etc work perfectly.
  
  PLEASE avoid this phone (I have never bothered to write a review in my whole life so you can imagine how frustrated I'm re this phone).
  
  I heard Panasonic is the way to go for good, non-static quality DECT phones - my 2 cents.
