  You just can't get an easier camera to use. You literally point and press the the video or the photo button! There aren't loads of buttons crammed on it although there is an extensive menu built into it, for example editing pictures, removing red-eye etc. It takes fantastic photos and great quality videos. It's easy to load pictures onto your computer with the software and accessories provided. It is a great camera and the only downside for me is that sometimes it can be a bit tricky operating it with one-thumb especially if you've got nails!!

  I had a look out for a waterproof camcorder for ages. I do a lot of river kayaking and sea kayaking and need a compact waterproof camcorder/camera for that. This one is just the deal, I can film and take photos and the quality is pretty good. I use Adobe Premium Pro to edit the movies and even when I increase the size to 720x576 it still holds up nice. Watching the clips on the telly looks fine too.

  Much better video quality than anticipated.
  Controls could be more user friendly.
  Battery life a bit short but quick charge system. Advise to buy at least a second battery.
  Not great video in dimmer lighting.
  Would recommend it for all round family use. Good value product.

  Shame I didn't buy it a week later and save £25, but hey!
  
  This camera has strengths and weaknesses. Given the price, the weaknesses are easy to overlook, as you're getting a 6mp stills camera and camcorder, AND it's waterproof. These features alone persuaded me it was worth getting one.
  
  However, it's worth considering the downsides:
  - the camera is not as good as other 6mp cameras - the colour rendition is not brilliant, and the optics aren't great either. My Canon Ixus produces far better images with the same size sensor and similar optical zoom.
  - the video camera is also not perfect; if excellent image quality is important to you, this probably isn't the camera to go for.
  - it lacks some features I'd have liked such as Firewire output, and the ability to stream a live monitor image through its analogue video output.
  - the build quality is reasonable but some bits are poorly thought out, such as the tendency for the battery to fall out whenever the cover's opened (which it has to be for the external connectors to be plugged in.
  - the low light performance is fairly average, as mentioned elsewhere.
  
  On the whole I'm pretty pleased with having a reasonable quality waterproof stills / video camera for this money. But if you prize image quality, you may want to foresake the waterproofness and go for something a bit more mainstream.
