  I was looking for good quality rechargeables to use with my Canon Speedlite 580 ex 2, as none of my existing high capacity NiMh batteries would power the flash up, although it is working OK with Enegiser Alkaline Batteries.
  The batteries came straight out of the packet into the flash and powered it up first time. These type of batteries are excellent compared to NiMh as they ca be left in the bag for ages and retain their charge.
  The Uniross battery tester which I bought at the same time showed these to be fully charged out of the packet. The tester also showed me I had some faulty batteries in my existing high capacity NiMh which may be the reason (3 good 1 bad) these would not power up the flash.
  
  The charger is just a normal charger which works OK, but looking at battery issues in more depth has led me to believe that investing in a new high quality smart charger may be worthwhile, with individual charging circuits for each battery and a refresh function.
  
  This package came direct from amazon who had it on offer at £9.50, which was worth it just for the batteries.
  
  Have not bought a charger yet, best I have found so far is a technoline BL-700 which is £27. Pity amazon UK did not stock the La Crosse BC900 battery charger and batteries which amazon.com sell for $39 - this is an excellent product and price.

  I heard good things about low discharge rechargables and decided to give them a go.
  
  They're absolutely amazing and its like sticking a fresh pair of batteries in each time. I've used them in my wii, xbox 360 and even a flashgun for my DSLR. The charger actually holds four batteries, which isn't obvious in the photo - Two in the front and two in the back, and you can charge 4 of one type (AA/AAA) or two of each type. It also has a slot to charge a 9V rechargable if you decide to buy one later one.
  
  Only reason I've given them four stars and not five is that the charger isn't a "smart" or "fast" charger, and so its takes 9 hours to recharge the batteries fully. Not a problem for me though as I can charge whilst I sleep!
